Exactly Which God is Debatable?

There are more excuses for people’s God not doing a thing then for anything else in human history.  The absolute dumbest of these is wanting to shift the question from Where is Your God to well People should do something.  Excuse me You think Your God can do Anything and is full of all kinds of magical powers. Yet You don’t think this Magical Man in the sky could do far better for far more people in a blink of an eye then any amount of people could ever do?

After all if blinking the Universe into existence isn’t magical powers then someone explain to me exactly what  is!  Additionally what Exactly are people to do when a Flood, Fire or Tornado occur?  Name for me one person that has the power to control Nature at a Whim.  You claim your magical God can control nature.  So either this destruction and suffering was part of your God’s plan and all you Christian’s that lost your house, Possession and for some even loved ones well your God must have been really pissed off at you!  To direct this shit directly at you.  Do you think you’re a modern day Job!  What’s next are you going to become a modern day Abraham ready to sacrifice your kid to your imaginary friend in the sky?

Then there is this word God.  Could you be any more Vague in a name for the Magical being you claim to believe in?  If this would actually occur in reality it would be a conversation like this.

The Stupidity behind names like this would be so massive as to make the only fitting response be Facepalm!

The word God as a name is so meaningless because it is so general!

To say I believe in God is as retarded as saying I believe in Male, Female, Dog, Cat, Horse, etc.  The logical question is Which one? 

You believe (Think) there is a God.  Wonderful what is this God's name?

Could you pick it out of a God line up of just 20?  Bear in mind there are Thousands of others.  Unless you are specific how can we know which one you believe (think) is real?

Achamoth - Mother Goddess Who gave birth to the creator of the material universe, according to early Gnostic Christians.

Zeus - King of the Gods, greatest of the twelve Olympians. He was the god of the heavens, weather, fate, and kings. His weapon was the fiery thunderbolt.

Jupiter - Was the supreme god of the Roman pantheon. Jupiter formed one of the triad of gods, with Mars and Quirinus.  (Imagine that a Trinity!)

This is only a tiny Fraction of the list of Gods & Goddesses in Human history.  You are an Atheist regarding 99.99% of these Gods.  All I or any other Atheist have done is to go .01% Further!

To say the existence of a God is Debatable then which God are you referring to? Which God is more debatable then another?  If you Pray.  When you pray which God are you praying to?  Perhaps you should try switching it up if the Yahweh isn’t listening why not try Zeus, or Odin or Ama-Terasu-O-Mi-Kami.  Hell, there are thousands upon thousands you can pick from why limit your prayers being answered to just One Tribes favorite deity?  After all if you simply believe in a God, Any God then shit Pray to them All.  Hedge your bets all the way around.

If you want to claim Your God is real and others are not then give Evidence to Prove this claim.  Otherwise it is simply you like one flavor over another.  Personally I don’t care about the flavors of non existant Gods.  I also don’t have a God Prejudice.  I reject them all Equally!

No Evidence for a God = No God

This should be common sense but I guess some Theists (Christian's & Muslims Mostly) are to stupid to grasp the logic behind this.

Just because you have a fantasy book which talks about an invisible magical being with super powers doesn’t make it true.  In order for anyone to assert that their deity exists they must provide Evidence for this.

If you really want to get down to where the Abrahamic religions come from those stories and Gods & Goddesses originate with ancient Sumer.  The Sumerians.  The Sumerians called their Gods The Anunnaki.  Which simply meant those who from Heaven to earth came.  These are what we would call Aliens.

There is a mountain of evidence to support the ancient Alien theory and I can cover this in future blogs if need be.  I want to stress even though I freely admit the evidence points to the ancient Gods & Goddesses being Aliens I can still say with conviction there is No God!

The reason for this is simple.  An Alien race regardless of how evolved they are simply aren’t a God!  They may have technology which would blow our mind.  But technology doesn’t make you a magical being / a God!

We have technology that people thousands of years ago wouldn’t have been able to grasp.  But we are not Gods!  We are not all powerful.  Neither are Aliens!

Additionally I wouldn’t worship an Alien period. 

I would love to talk to them crawl in their head / Find out what makes them tick.  But Bowing and Scraping is simply not for me. 

However None of the Theists want to admit their so-called God is an Alien race.  They don’t want to look at the evidence because then they may have to face the reality that No Being made the Universe!

Quantum Physics does go a long way to explaining how the Universe came into existence.  While String Theory does open the door for upwards of ten - twelve dimensions.  However None of this gives even the slightest hint to any kind of God thing!

Without Evidence proving a God exists the only logical conclusion is none exist.  Invisible Magical Spiritual Flying Blue Smurfs are not real simply because someone may say they are and there is no evidence they don’t exist.  There is no evidence they do exist!  You do not just assume a fantasy character exists until it can be proven they don’t.  This is backwards!

Hell the Quran screws up in basic science as I will show in an up coming blog.  I will give the Book, Chapter & Verse in all of the places where I show the Quran Screwing up!

A Conversation with a Theist

As an Atheist I sometimes end up in a debate type situation that turns more and more into the theist trying to argue with me that their God must exist for what amounts to it makes them feel good.

One such example of this was a recent discussion I had on IMVU with a woman that I wasn’t interested in debating religion in the slightest.  The name of that Avatar is called Sinfully Amazing.  We were in a room I made and I happened to be sitting on an Atheist Chair that I had just happened to make white with a black A. This woman remarked that she liked that chair so me being the gentleman I moved to the one beside it and said, “Oh yes that is the Atheist Chair.”  I also did add that I am an Atheist.  Note this was not meant to spark any kind of debate / discussion about fantasy magical beings.

Well this woman said she was Catholic.  Then added what has to be the absolute dumbest reason for adopting a label that could possibly exist.  That being because she was raised Catholic. Even though I didn’t want to get into a debate on the God bullshit I knew I couldn’t not comment on it.

What I said was, “So you believe in a Sadistical Magical being because that’s what you were told to believe?”

To which she had said, “I don’t believe God is Sadistical.”

At this point I was in a position of in for a penny might as well go in for a pound.  I then asked, “If the only way a parent can forgive is via the human sacrifice of their child wouldn’t you call that Sadistical?  Or Isn’t Think as I demand or be tortured Sadistical?”

Instead of answering these questions she shifted to a completely different justification attempt.  That being the desire to see some relative that died again.  I do want to point out that the avoidance of questions that the theist can’t honestly answer in a way that makes their fantasy God look nice and sweet is common. However this always leads to a more hostile approach or at the very least one rooted in emotion not logic.

Now looking back on it I guess I could’ve just let this woman have whatever fantasy she wanted just to get away from this bullshit.  However once I am in logical, intellectual & philosophical mode it can be tough for me to snap out of that.  Not to mention the mountain of logical questions / counter points flood my mind so rapidly often times I speak or in this case type a response without actually thinking.

I said, “Just because you want something to be true doesn’t mean it is.”  Then adding, “Like you I have lost those who were close to me and a part of me would love to see them again.  However the logical part of me knows this is simply not possible.  You are far from the only person that has lost those you love.”

Now to be fair I know this is hitting below the belt because the wish to see some lost loved one again is an emotional justification not a logical one.  However I didn’t get totally metaphysical on her with this explaining that even if something exists beyond this physical that we can’t definitively prove with science the idea of a loved one being just like they were in life is simply illogical.  The way we are in life is based entirely upon the experiences, culture & time period we happen to be born into.  If something transcends death there simply is no logical reason to assume that it would continue to think, reason & behave just as the person did in their physical life.  Adding of course that there is no way a person would retain the physical appearance they had in life in some energy form.  Since the physical appearance we have is based entirely upon the DNA of our mother and father. 

To which I heard something like she believes in God in the nice parts.  Which lead me to again respond without thought with, “I never knew belief in God was like a Fast Food Menu.  Make Your God Your Way.”

As you can no doubt tell I was in full Atheist mode dealing with a Theist.  However then I heard something which really made the Scientific & Atheist part of me go completely bonkers.

She actually said, “You are preaching to the choir.”  She then added how she was a nurse and regularly saw people protesting outside the clinic she worked at.

To which I had immediately said, “Those would be Christian’s” Which she agreed but must have failed to realize Catholic is a flavor of Christianity.

At this point I was a bit confused because I was hearing this woman talking about understanding science but yet clinging to an idea that is completely non scientific in nature.  I think it was at this point when I asked, “Do you seriously believe the Universe was magically poofed into being?”

This did make her inquire what I meant to which I had added, “The idea that a Magical God caused the Universe to appear from Nothing all on a whim.”

By this point she had degraded into full, (I must defend my God) mode.  Which really strikes me as strange given if this God is so all knowing and so powerful why would it need defended by some mere religious believer.

She had asked if I was trying to convert her and I said, “Atheist’s don’t care about conversion since there is nothing to convert to.  All I want to do is to cause you to stop and think.”

However this was clearly making her uncomfortable since what I was raising were problems in the God notion that she simply couldn’t explain away.  Which means anger is the next emotion to spring forward since honestly she had nothing else. To try and argue a literal bible idea as to why is simply foolish given I had raise things which made it impossible to defend the God and still be fully aware of science.

What surprised me in all of this was how I remained perfectly calm and simply pointed out the flaws in theistic logic.  Yet more and more what I got was growing anger and resentment. 

This was really not what I had wanted to have happen but I couldn’t see a way out of this situation with her in fully Defend the God notion and me in full Let’s be logical mode. 

In the end she left the conversation and I felt completely disgusted since IMVU is not the place where I try to engage in deep conversations.  Simply speaking that type of thing is just not fitting for that environment.  Yet when I encounter dumb I can’t help but try and get the person to think.  Which does lead to defend the beliefs even when the beliefs are completely wacky. 

Belief – Evidence = Bullshit

People can believe all sorts of things.  Many if not most of the things people honestly believe is really nothing but Bullshit that someone else or another group wants them to believe.  Just because you may have convinced yourself about something or had an idea conditioned into your mind / programmed to believe.  This doesn’t mean that it is actually true.  Your belief in something doesn’t increase the reality of it no more then your disbelief in gravity or magnetism could alter either of those natural forces.

            All through human history we have records of people believing in all kinds of Gods & Goddesses.  However no one today really believes in 99.9% of those Gods & Goddesses.  If someone does believe in a God or Goddess or both it is only the one from his or her religion.  The religion they were either born into a family that taught these ideas to them as a child or one that they let themself be convinced to believe in.  The reasons for this latter can be extremely varied. However a safe bet can be the desire to gain pleasure or the desire to avoid pain. The truth is we know that people will do far more to avoid pain then they ever will to gain pleasure.  This is why advertisements center around pain & pleasure in one form or another.

            There are endless examples of the pain / pleasure aspect of human nature.  Just watch TV and you will see example after example.  Every product that is advertised claims to be wonderful, easy, cheep, etc.  You will never see a commercial for a product where they tell you, This sucks, It is a waste of money, It is an absolute pain in the ass, etc.  However clearly there are products that in reality are just those things.  The intent of the Advertisement is to get you to believe the product or service will be something that you will love or can’t do without.  Your belief in a product or service will not make it magically work or be wonderful.  All your belief can do is get you to pay for that product or service.

            The only way we can reduce our chances of being ripped off is to examine the evidence.  Even with that one must be careful not to be suckered by bogus evidence.  Just because someone can claim to have a product that does a certain thing and they can show tests of it working and doing what they claim doesn’t mean those tests are accurate or that the results are accurate.  When it comes to people trying to profit from something the idea that they wouldn’t lie is simply foolishness.  I am not saying everyone is out to trick you.  However if you demand solid proof from multiple sources that is the only way to really limit your chances of being deceived.

            When it comes to anything but religion people of all different beliefs will have no problem with what I’ve stated.  However as soon as I say the same way you demand evidence before paying for some product don’t you think you should demand evidence before buying into a God concept?  Then suddenly people get on their, “I must Defend My God” high fucking horse!

             If there is an afterlife and let’s assume for the sake of argument there is. How do you know which God or Goddess is the correct one to buy into?  Hell how do you know any of the Gods or Goddesses in human history even existed or exist?  Let alone will be waiting to give you a pat on the head and a cookie for thinking the correct thoughts.  Without Evidence to support the claims of the religion and their afterlife what possible reason could you have for buying it? 

            You wouldn’t buy a car just because someone says it is wonderful and will give you eternal life.  You would want to see evidence supporting this claim.  How is the Jesus, God, Allah or any other God story any different?  Those pushing that service will sing the praises of it.  Not telling you about the down side.  Or if they do they will use the Down Side as a type of threat.  Believe (Think) as we say or this horrible thing will happen to you.

            Right off the bat, doesn’t anyone realize this is called Blackmail, Extortion & Manipulation?  If this group claims to be all loving yet their main sales pitch is loaded with Threats.  Wouldn’t you conclude what they are selling isn’t all it is cracked up to be?  Add to this to believe that thinking certain thoughts can take away your personal responsibility for anything you have done.  This is nothing short of Scapegoating.  It is not based on any observable quality in nature.  It is only based on a desire to be able to pass the buck.

            Let’s stop and think about this for a minute.  Each person views reality from themself as the center.  Everyone else and everything that is going on in reality is seen from the point of view of person / observer.  This means even if a God or Goddess would exist that it too would be viewed as something that is separate from each observer / person.  Now think about this.  If each person views everyone else & everything as going on separate from them would a God or Goddess view reality in that way too?  If it would then why should it give a damn about what thoughts are in your head.  How would your Thoughts effect that God or Goddess in the slightest?  If it wouldn’t view everyone as separate from itself then why would it elect to torture some and reward others?  After all if it is viewing reality from the point of view of everyone that exists wouldn’t He, She or It also understand why each person does what they do?  Be it good or bad, noble or self-serving?  The only way the theistic God works is as an iron fisted dictator.  One that is so ruthless as to make Hitler and Stalin look like Saints!

            If service to a ruthless iron fisted dictator is your idea of paradise why don’t you move to North Korea.  You can be in fucking paradise right now.  Living everyday in servitude to a ruthless dictator and worship the dead father.  Think about it.  A life of absolutely no freedom what so ever!  No freedom of choice because with the God of Judaism, Christianity & Islam you don’t even have freedom of Thought.  Without freedom of Thought you can’t have freedom of choice.  Which means no freewill.  Since to have that you must at the very least have the freedom to your own thoughts.

            Despite all of this there will be some that cling to their religion despite all evidence that they are simply full of shit.  Which is classic Delusional Disorder. Delusional Disorder is defined as a firm belief / conviction in something despite evidence to the contrary!  That is what Faith is called.  However it should really be called the mental illness that it is.  Delusional Disorder.

The Bullshit of Faith & Belief

It is a core part of Judaism, Islam & Christianity that you must believe certain things. What those things are varies with the religion and even within the different sects of the different religions. Since belief / faith is what an afterlife is claimed to be based on it is important to understand exactly what a belief / faith is.

3 : conviction of the truth of some statement or the reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on examination of evidence

2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion

b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust

3 : something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs

There isn't a con artist in the world that doesn't look for those who are quick to believe what they are told. Not so they can help them but so they can deceive them. What is almost amusing is so many Christians especially the fundamentalists are real quick to warn of people trying to deceive you. While those who believe in a religion believe it not because of facts and evidence but because that is the story they have been told they must believe.

The Christian, Muslim & Jew will fight tooth and nail to defend the belief system, which bases pleasure or torture not on what is good or what is true but strictly on the words some man wrote in an ancient book. Because those words were written in that book thousands of years ago then that is the way it is for all time. That is absolute insanity.

　

There are some who have tried to use this you must believe what I say mindset to their benefit. We have a word for this kind of person. We call them a Cult Leader. Jim Jones, David Koresh, Applewhite and Charles Manson just to name a few. All of them were looking for the True Believers. What does the True Believers get for their Faith & Belief? They either end up dead or in prison.

A lie that goes right in line with what a con artist like one of these TV preachers will tell you is this. Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

The truth is not all things are possible just by believing it. I can believe I am a millionaire all I want it will not make the money suddenly appear in my bank account. There are tons of mental patients that really believe they are Jesus or Mary or some other person from history. However their belief that they are doesn’t mean they actually are but that they are suffering from a mental disorder.

It is only those who try and escape from cults that can end up being "Saved" but what they are saved from is not some mysterious "Sin" concept but the evil plans of the cult they were a part of.

To call a book written by men that is full of symbolism, which is Moon worship in the Old Testament & Sun Worship in the New Testament and calling it the divine anything is absurd. What this comes down to really is an Episode in Star Trek The Next Generation. Where Picard was captured by a Cardassian and was asked how many lights he saw. When he said there are four lights he was tortured and the Cardassian said there are five lights. In the end Picard was given a choice. A life of bliss or more torture and all he had to do was to say he could see five lights when there were really only four lights.

The most quoted verse in the bible is a prime example of the kind of manipulation that I am talking about. Notice the only requirement is one believe something. It doesn’t mean it is true only that you believe it! John 3:15 – 18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.This type of behavior Christians will bend over backwards to explain. Calling it loving to demand human sacrifice to satisfy his blood lust. These people will literally excuse behavior from their god that would be repulsive in any human doing. The excuse used to explain this is God can do what God wants because God is God. Which is a might makes right philosophy. It is not a philosophy based or rooted in love but only in power.

The old saying about power is very true with the God of religion. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!

The bible thumping Christian will never admit that Jesus is really the Sun. That the Sun is our savior because without it we would be dead. No they will demand that all of this is some spiritual thing and that the symbology is a trick of the devil.

To not base what you believe on facts and evidence is to set yourself up to be taken for a ride.  Only a total fool would just believe they have a long lost relative in Africa that died and is giving them millions all they have to do is send a few hundred dollars to some guy they never met and never heard of.  Yet this is exactly what all Christian's, Muslim's & Jew's are doing when they buy into this bullshit concept of a God that only loves them and everyone else is wicked and going to burn in Hell.

No matter how you slice it this type of approach is the method of the con artist not one who is honest and worth trusting.  Trust only those things which you can prove.  It is fine to hope for hitting the mega million lottery but don't quit your job, sell your house on the hope that you will hit the lottery!  The same is true with a God.

It is fine to hope there is something out there that cares about us and loves us but don't bet on that pie in the sky type of thing being real.  And certainly don't demand that I buy into your pipe dreams.  I don't even play the lottery why would I engage in such with an afterlife?
